History

It formed in 1904 as part of the Dover County School, and only later split into Boys' and Girls' Grammars in 1910 - DGGS still has close co-operation with the Boys' Grammar. The school's houses are Hubert de Burgh, St Martin, Queen Ethelburga, and Stephen de Pencester. The house names were chosen in a poll by the students in 1910 and have never changed.
